Introduces basic building construction and materials used in the construction of small to medium scale buildings.It focuses on developing an understanding of the principle of the building elements which include the substructure and superstructure and common construction materials such as concrete, masonry, timber, metal, and glass.For each material, this module will describe the manufacturing process, properties,and typical uses of these materials in construction.

Famous Architect’s building

Pick one building that was created by an architect, considering how construction materials were used as architectural and structural characteristics and how they related to the design idea of the chosen structure.buildings. This online study project intends to assist me in exploring and comprehending the logic behind the selection of construction materials together with its characteristics, qualities, effect, and installation on the overall layout of the structure.

Construction Detailing of Building Elements

Learned to demonstrate my knowledge and understanding on building construction through drawings. It will emphasis more on detailing on building elements. One of the aims of this assignment is to develop an awareness and understanding of the strong inter-relationship between design and technical knowledge.

REFLECTION

Through online learning the lecturers and tutors are always provided students with an ample amount of social media platforms for students to reach out to them. Beside that they would also include games in the lecture sessions to make sure students are having fun and staying focused in the class. I really appreciate the way that they are giving learning information to the students.

Realized human civilization is kind of evidence of the advancement and development of different eras. I hope to be part of this cycle to contribute my part as an architect in the future
