Project 2: Designing with Architectural Principles + Materiality Introspective Pavilion

Use the architectural principles from the first assignment; to explore our conceptual and operational procedures in order to produce a significant gesture of architectural spaces. We are required to explore the potential meanings and implications of this architectural principles in the sense that it will inform two areas: generating forms and crafting spaces.

MEGAMI an introspective pavillion

Representing a journey in the pursuit of balance in our lives, the Megami Pavillion, named after a goddess of the earth, aim store connect onewith nature and is a mean store discover our innerself through introspection. From the perpetual rythmic flow of timber to the coldness of concrete, we are kept reminded of our inseperable relationship with nature as the glass walk way breaks boundaries  between structure and nature. The tree in the centre is the perfect embodiment of the balance we seek and the different sections of the spiraling structure each provides an unique experience in this journey that one is to embark.

REFLECTION

.jpg
Learned to have good time management and initiative by making a timeline to proceed with the project.
.jpg
Learned to create a structure and space with awareness of anthropometry and ergonomics.

By using recycled materials, I learned to build a firm 1:1 structure that does not require other components such as bolts, nuts, and glue.
